Au-Pair in Iceland - facts & info

  • Age: 18-27 years (European Union), 18-25 other nationalities.
  • Duration: 6-12 months.
  • Working hours: max. 30 hours per week.
  • Holidays: You get one holiday week for each 26 weeks of work.
  • Travel costs: You need to pay for the travel costs and visa expenses (if needed).
  • Insurance: If you come from a European Union member country you can be insured by the European Health Insurance Card. If you come from a different country, you need to get a private insurance.
  • Pocket money: around 80 euros per week.
  • Visa requirements: EU citizens do not need a visa. If you have a different nationality you require the Au-Pair visa.
